Casa da Urra is set in the heart of a 180-hectare estate, next to the picturesque village of Urra and overlooking the charming town of Portalegre. Implanted in a pleasant place, among vineyards, pasture for sheep and mounted, stands in the middle of Alto Alentejo, two steps from Spain, in a place where the plain wrinkles to give way to the stunning Sierra de São Mamede.
The vineyards of the Casa da Urra include white grape varieties - Arinto, Antão Vaz, Verdelho and Alvarinho, together with a touch of Moscatel - and mainly red grapes - Aragonez, Alicante Bouchet, Sirah, Trincadeira, Touriga Nacional and Alfrocheiro - very beloved varieties of the Portuguese and that allow a great margin of progression, now and in the future. This is all the more justifiable since we know that, well tempered by the fresh breezes that blow from the nearby mountains, the whole vineyard benefits from a very particular microclimate that allows us to produce some of the best grapes of the Alentejo. As the designation "casa" legally obliges, and unlike many other productions, Casa da Urra can only use own grapes in the making of its wines.
Using also the most advanced specialization and technology, it can guarantee the continuation of the offer of wines with personality, always with the same characteristics, meeting the tastes and preference of thousands of good lovers of Alentejo nectars, which await every year with the expectation of launching the new crops, always with the seal of Rui Reguinga, one of the most renowned Portuguese winemakers.
