Located in Crato, in Portalegre, glued to the slopes of the S. Mamede mountain range of granite soil and embellished with the deer on the loose is born in this Alentejo mountain, a unique place for the production of distinct wines and superior categories.

In 2010, the second vineyard with 4 hectares was planted and the Touriga Nacional, the most important noble variety in Portugal, was chosen. Touriga Nacional has been an "ambassador of our country" due to its ability to adapt to climate change. Also in 2010, Touriga Franca, a breed that originated in France, is very closely associated with the production of generous wines.
Herdade da Rocha reinforces the vineyard plantation in 2011 with Arinto, which is a very versatile variety cultivated in almost all the wine regions due to its good adaptation to all climates. Alvarinho is still planted, considered one of the noblest Portuguese white varieties and produces a wine of marked freshness and of very high quality.
