Blandy's 10 Years Sercial Madeira (500 ml)
Sercial probably originates from Bucelas near Lisboa, where it was traditionally grown under the name Esgana Cao, which literally means dog strangler, hinting at the fierce acidity of the wines.

John Blandy, the founder of Blandy’s arrived in Madeira in 1808. In 1811 he founded his own business as a wine shipper and general trader, with brothers Thomas and George, and started the production of the most famous and unique wine in the world – Madeira wine.
- It is excellent served slightly chilled as an aperitif and accompanied by roasted almonds, or the more adventurous can pair this wine with sashimi or oysters
- Fermentation off the skins with natural yeast at temperatures between 18°C - 21°C in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. After 5 days, fortification with grape brandy takes place, arresting fermentation at the desired degree of sweetness
- 10 years in seasoned American oak casks in the traditional ‘Canteiro’ system, whereby the casks of this wine are gradually transferred from the top floors of the lodge
