<p></p><p>Casa Ermelinda freitas is a wine brand recognized by the world for its magnificent wines. From its very beginnings, made the quality of its vineyards and wines a top priority. When the company first started, wines were produced and sold wholesale and unbranded. It was the current management that decided to take on the challenge that is involved in creating an own brand wine. 1997 was the year of the company's new beginning in wine making, with red wine "Terras do Po tinto", being the first to be produced and bottled on the premises of the Ermelinda Freitas winery.</p>
<p></p><p>At the end of the 90's, with the development of the activity, João Pedro Araújo's family decided to acquire Quinta da Vegia, in order to start producing red wines.</p><p>Located in the Dão Region, next to the town of Penalva do Castelo, it currently has 20 ha of vineyards. His mindset followed a careful choice of grape varieties - Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela, Alfrocheiro and Tinto Cão, Encruzado and Bical - in order to create Quinta da Vegia wines.</p>
<p>On the tasting notes, the Casa da Passarella Villa Oliveira Encruzado typically displays a citrus to yellowish color. The aroma is complex and elegant, featuring notes of white fruits (like lychee, white peach), citrus (orange peel, lime), and mineral, resinous, or smoky nuances, sometimes with hints of hazelnut or toasted bread from barrel aging. On the palate, it's a structured, full-bodied, fresh, and elegant wine, showcasing excellent balance between body and acidity, with a long, precise, and persistent finish. For food pairing, this versatile wine is ideal with structured fish dishes, seafood, white meats (like roasted poultry or stews), creamy pasta with mushrooms, and soft or aged cheeses. Its acidity and structure allow it to complement rich and flavorful dishes, while its elegance and aromatic complexity add an extra dimension to the gastronomic experience</p>
