This is a very old sweet Madeira wine, classified ass "FRASQUEIRA" that was part of the wine collection of the family that own this wine company. Produced from a remarkable years harvest, from the tinta negra variety, this grape is recognized as being one of the recommended varieties

The founders of D’Oliveiras were visionaries that saw the true value of Madeira Wine: its ability to improve over time. Therefore they started storing as much Madeira Wine as possible, letting it slowly mature inside the barrels for future generations to be able to enjoy it further. For that reason, D’Oliveiras is the only Madeira Wine company that owns Madeira Wine bottles and Barrels from as far as the 1850’s that can still be commercially purchased.

It has a medium-sweet finish and an excellent balance between fruit and acidity. With 19% ABV, about <strong>87 g/L</strong> residual sugar and total acidity of <strong>6.53 g/L</strong> (tartaric), it’s ideal as an after-dinner drink, especially when paired with milk chocolate, cakes, fruit, or hard cheeses.
