Quinta do Couquinho spans across 70 hectares, of which approximately 60 hectares are cultivated. Filled mostly with vineyards and olive groves, a small orchard of almond, orange, clementine, fig and apple trees complete the landscape. Located in the Douro Superior area of the Douro Demarcated Region, it borders the Alto Douro Wine Region, the area that was classified by UNESCO as a world heritage site in 2001

Deep ruby color. Intense aroma where the ripe fruit stands out. In the mouth a lotenveloping, powerful but balanced, with soft tannins, fruit, chocolate and cherry are intensely evident

The grapes were trodden on foot in a winery and then transferred to stainless steel vats, where the alcoholic fermentation took place with slight remounting and prolonged maceration

These vineyards are planted with Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa, and Tinta Francisca grapes, carefully chosen from select parcels for their soil profile and sun exposure. The harvest is done manually, with transportation in 20kg boxes, ensuring utmost respect for the integrity of the fruit. In the winery, the wine is crafted in stainless steel tanks and French oak barrels, a process that emphasizes the purity of the fruit and the structure of the wine. <br /><br />After aging for 24 months in new French oak barrels, the wine is then bottled and matures for another year before it is ready to be enjoyed.</p>
