The history of the wines of the Casas do Côro begins with the purchase of old vineyards with more than 80 years in Marialva and evolves with a plantation of 9 hectares of the best varieties of white grapes. With a common origin in the Beira interior, share a passion for the land where they were born, for their traditions, smells and aromas, there continuing to credit and bet heavily on a territory that they consider unique. They are wines with a very fresh and mineral character, with exuberant acidity but above all are wines with soul and proof that with good wines you can make good friends!

From Vinho Verde to the Alentejo, via the Douro and Dão, with "leaps" across to the Azores, Brazil and Argentina, Anselmo Mendes has undertaken a path as wine-maker, by cultivating a passion in each region, getting to know the voice of each land and trying to bring out the best in each wine. Today, as a consultant, he has had various successful projects from one end of Portugal to the other, and abroad.

Just like the grapes that give them origin and through a more prolonged stage and mostly in oak barrels, they are intended to be more serious wines, with more complexity, elegance and longevity. Primeiro Nome wines are even more characteristic of the year and the process, since not all years the best grapes are in the same plots/caste. They are wines that are made in the vineyard by the careful selection of those that I believe are the grapes with the potential to make a great wine.
